Narrative illustration

For this brief we have been asked to choose a book from a list given by our tutors.
There was so many excellent books to choose from, I had a hard time deciding which one I'd like to illustrate.
I narrowed my decision down to three books, H.P Lovecraft's Necronomicon, The Brothers Grimm's Hansel and Gretel and Irvine Welsh's Trainspotting.
I would of had a lot of fun drawing from the other two books, but I decided to go with Trainspotting.
Although for me this will be a harder challenge than the other books, I instantly got a picture in my head of how I would like it too look.. and I feel that if I achieve this said 'look', I will be one step closer to realising my desired illustrative voice.

I bought the book whilst enjoying a weekend away with my girlfriend in York and started reading it right away... ( it's a pain to read as it's written in a Scottish accent).

At the moment, as I read through the book I am taking note of the narrative peaks I feel are suitable and enjoyable to illustrate and sticking a postit note on those pages with brief descriptions.
This will help me to easily refer back to desired pieces of narrative once I have finished reading the book.
